After 15 years in the social service sector, Mun Loon made a mid-career switch to the legal sector. As a trained and qualified social worker, counsellor and mediator, Mun Loon’s was Head of Professional Services in a non-profit where he oversaw the agency’s professional practice direction and strategy.
Tapping on his cross-training, Mun is equipped to work with high conflict, emotionally charged work. He is perceptive and insightful faced with complex issues and works with clients from the repertoire of skills available. Colleagues with complex, gridlocked cases often chat to glean from his synthesis of various training in the different fields of work.
Other than being in legal practice, Mun Loon a talented orator who is both objective and clear. Armed with a sharp wit and a clear mind, Mun is a sought-after speaker, trainer, and mentor especially in the areas of conflicts, relationships and marriage. He consults with individuals and businesses on dispute management and crisis communications.
Mun Loon graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Social Work. He earned accreditations in Mediation and Psychotherapy from the Regent’s College School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology (UK), in Family Mediation at the Erickson’s Mediation Institute (USA) and Pepperdine University (USA). He is an accredited Gottman Educator for 'The Seven Principles in Making Marriage Work' and 'Bringing Baby Home' programmes, trained to Level II in the Gottman Method Couples' Therapy by The Gottman Institute (USA). In addition, Mun Loon holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the SUSS (Singapore).
